Remarks: Red root floaters are probably one of the most desirable floating plants in the hobby. They look like small clusters of lily pads with short, feathery, bright red roots that hang below the leaves. Typically this plant has green leaves, but under high light conditions, they can turn a deep crimson color just like their roots and will even produce tiny, white flowers. While red root floaters enjoy high nutrient environments, having lower amounts of nitrates in the water can result in redder leaves. Like all floaters, these plants will not survive if they are constantly getting water on top of them so the surface of the water should be as calm as possible. This makes them an excellent addition to calmer tanks like those with bettas.
