Blue Turbo Snail

Remarks: The blue turbo snail has a unique, turban shell shape making it a nice addition to any aquarium. The shell starts out black or brown in color, but as the shell growth ages it slowly becomes more white or hazy blue in color. These snails are native to Lake Poso in Sulawesi, Indonesia that is also home to a number of other interesting snail species. Unfortunately, these fascinating species are all threatened by the invasive apple snail that competes with them for resources. Blue turbo snails are  live-bearing and do not reproduce very quickly so there is little to no risk for them to take over a tank. That being said, we do encourage anyone purchasing these snails to attempt to breed them to aid in making them more available within North America and for conservation purposes.
